Peter, Sharon and family would like to welcome you to "Wyke Down"
Touring Caravan and Camping Park. There has been a caravan park at Wyke
Down since the 1950s, which has developed over the years into the park
with the facilities you see today. It is privately-owned by the Read family
who purchased the farm and the ground the park is set on in 1948. The family
has been running the park day-to-day since that early beginning. Over the
years, facilities have been built and improved to provide a 3-star traditional,
family-run park.
We are located just outside Andover, which is the Test Valley region of
Hampshire. Communications to the Park are very good - we are situated 3
miles from the A303 with its links to the A34 and M3, and the park is well
signed with brown 'Tourist Board' signs from the A303 and most local road
junctions. Andover has mainline railway station on the Waterloo to Exeter
line (www.southwesttrains.co.uk).
The park also incorporates a country pub and restaurant, a golf driving
range and a farm. Details of these other facilities can be found on this
website.
On arrival to the park, the reception is located on your left and ample
parking is available in front of you in the pub and restaurant car park.
The entrance to the park is by an electrically-operated gate, situated
behind the main buildings. The park is divided into the main field and
the 'summer camp' field. The main field is open all year with electric
pitches, some incorporating a hard standing with water and drainage, others
are well-tended with close-mown grass. Specimen Trees of varying ages are
punctuated around the park. There are approximately 60 serviced pitches
of varying types. The 'summer camp' field is generally open from April
to October, and is ideal for the traditional camping holiday in your family
tent. The toilet block and showers are located centrally on the main field. |

- All electric hook-ups provide a 10amp supply.
- Water points around the park provide mains-fed drinking water. For hygiene purposes please do not use these drains for emptying your waste water. A chemical and waste disposal point can be found near the toilet block with a separate water rinse tap.
- We have two showers in each toilet block - in the busy period you may need to be patient.
- We try to check the toilet block on a regular basis. Please help us by leaving the showers and toilet as you would wish to find them.
- Dustbin points are located at various points, we respectfully ask you to
use them by putting all your rubbish in plastic bags and into the bins.
Do not leave them beside the bins as the local wildlife may empty them
during the night. Also please avoid leaving sharp objects or broken glass
where they could become a hazard to young children.
- We have recycling bins at the entrance gates, please use these for all
receyclable materials to help our environment.
- A chemical and waste disposal point can be found next to the toilet block.
- We now operate a "key card" gate into and out of the campsite.
For access it will be necessary for you to pay a deposit of £10 for the
